Caroline trained in Psychodynamic psychotherapy, which explores how our past impacts on our experience of the world today. Experiences and subsequent defensive behaviours learned in childhood can set up unhelpful patterns for adult life, which when triggered, can lead to very powerful or overwhelming feelings. Recognising and understanding these “triggers” is often the first step to making the changes required to experience a happier and more fulfilled life.
The links between past and present create the foundation of the psychotherapeutic approach. Caroline also integrates “active” therapies into her work because these can be useful in helping to speed up the process of change.
During her work with you, Caroline will draw from a range of approaches to help you achieve your goals. These may include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Life Coaching, Solution Based Therapy, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis and person-centred therapy.
